FREE INSURANCE AND TAX ON NEW VOLKSWAGENS IN APRIL

Volkswagen has moved to ease the financial burden faced by the Irish consumer by offering free insurance and free motor tax on any new Volkswagen car purchased in April.

“Many Irish households were hit with another charge late last month with the introduction of the Household Charge, so we decided that we would ease the financial burden on qualifying customers buying one of our new cars by paying the first year’s insurance* and road tax on new Volkswagens bought in April,” said John Donegan, Head of Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen Ireland.

With this new offer, customers choosing a new Volkswagen model in April, including everything from the recently-launched up! city car, to the stylish new CC and luxurious Touareg SUV can have their car insurance included free of charge for twelve months, underwritten by Allianz plc. But not only that, you can forget about the motor tax for a year too, as Volkswagen will be giving you 12 months free motor tax as well.

“We think that this represents an outstanding offer to the Irish consumer, who at this stage has been battered by the amount of charges they have faced in 2012. Now, if they buy a Volkswagen, at least some of their outgoings for the next twelve months are covered off by us. Plus, given that we have amongst the cleanest cars available on the Irish market, with the greatest residual values, buying a new Volkswagen has seldom looked like a better investment,” adds Donegan.
